Vintage African Arrows c1900
A truly stunning pair of rare vintage African arrows dating back to approximately the early 1900's of possible Congo decent. Technically antiques, these are in remarkable condition for their age, beautiful patination throughout, bound with animal hide strapping, forged steel heads and bamboo shafts, with the feathers still in very good condition. Being a vintage item there are some signs of use and wear and tear, but would be a beautiful feature piece on any wall in the home.
Bows and arrows were used for hunting and defence weapons throughout the early ages, up to their decline in the early 20th century due to the increase in use of firearms, these historical arrows highlight the age old natural skills of the bushman as effective and successful bow hunters.
