House of Rym Wrapper's Delight Turkish Fouta Towel
-
The fouta is a piece of patterned cotton or linen fabric used in many Mediterranean countries, originally from Tunisia. They were worn by both men and women, wrapped around the body while at the public baths in 19th century Syria.
Foutas are widely used today in the occidental world as Turkish bath towels (hammam towels) or even beach towels, but can be used as a shawl, a wrap, bedcover or even a tablecloth.
These luxurious fouta towels are made from 100% cotton and are available in two colours, crafted using age old techniques by Tunisian artisans, who produce heirloom quality textiles in ethical and fair work environments. -

House of Rym was built on a love affair between contemporary design and ancient handcraft, between Sweden and Tunisia, intriguing aesthetics and sustainable materials.
Founders Rym Tounsi and Zied Youssef share a passion for their cultural heritage and the ancient craftsmanship of their homeland, but also a belief that design-lovers from other continents deserve to enjoy a modern take on traditional products. They embrace the handmade, the beauty of slight flaws, the perfection of imperfection.
Rym and Zied work with talented Swedish designers Anna Backlund, Elisabeth Dunker, Cecilia Pettersson and Emma von Brömssen to bring you their story.
